Mephisto' is a traditional scale mustang stallion in a rearing, whirling pose. He is decidedly not 'tack friendly', unless you dare! He has all the details my work is known for, lots of wrinkles, whisker bumps, hooves detailed with frogs and bars, realistic veining, windblown mane and tail, and 'wild horse' features such as hairy legs, pasterns, coronet bands. He also has furry ears and hair under his jaws, and the front edges of his hooves are somewhat square as many wild horses have. He is meant to represent a mustang with Spanish heritage, having a convex forehead and short, stout stature. A great article with more information in this type of horse can be found here. He comes with a removable sagebrush base that holds him up nicely, with the option of additionally purchasing a marble base to attach the resin base to. This is purely optional, as the resin base works well. Please refer to photo of base below.
This is an edition of around 180 + 15 artist proofs. Any order cancellations will be subtracted from the edition total, resulting in a final edition size that is undetermined at this time, but will be less than 200 pieces.
